Susman Consulting was founded in California in 2021. We primarily serve the United States and Southern Africa, with a particular focus on California and South Africa. Our mission is to lower the environmental impact of buildings and cities. We envision a future in which technology and infrastructure enable high living and work standards, while prioritizing environmental needs.

Dr. Gideon Susman
EngD CEng MSc BSc LEED AP MInstP
Gideon has twenty years of experience designing energy systems and developing sustainability strategies. Having led teams at Buro Happold and WSP, he founded Susman Consulting to better serve clients in need of dedicated design and planning guidance.
Career highlights include low energy analysis and design of over seventy buildings, including net zero energy and LEED platinum projects; fifteen sustainability and infrastructure plans, including four University of California campus carbon neutrality plans and two net zero energy master plans; and management of multiple academic and industry research collaborations.
Gideon is a Chartered Engineer and holds an Engineering Doctorate in Environmental Technology. He has taught several courses in the USC School of Architecture and has lectured at universities around the world. He is a former board member of the LA Ecovillage Institute and Lifekit LA, a homeless services charity.
